Third Education Revolution Confession of Faith,  February 2024

Preamble

The Third Education Revolution (TER), acting through regional Truth and Transformation (T&T) entities, is a global educational movement that is rooted in fidelity to Scripture and builds on the core creedal foundations of Christianity.

Grounded in God’s revelation in Scripture and His created order, it seeks to be obedient to Christ’s command to “go and teach the nations” the ways of God. (Matt. 28:19-20) Discipling nations is our driving motivation. (Gen 17:6)

The TER presents a unified vision for reclaiming the sphere of education from the state’s secular post-truth worldview and restoring it to the Church through biblically rooted education.

By teaching the next generation through all spheres of education, it seeks to restore teaching as a sacred calling. It believes education needs to be restored to reflect a pursuit of Truth and Christ-like virtue. The TER calls forth wisdom which comes from God’s divine revelation and Spirit.

The TER sees a biblically based education as the necessary condition for a reforming of the nations in which every sphere of life is submitted to the Lordship of Christ and conformed to the standards of God’s Word, all for the glory of God.

Towards that end, the TER welcomes as co-belligerents Christian-based organizations and alliances around the world who likewise seek to restore a central Christian voice in the education of the next generations. By networking, mutually building upon, and supporting such educational initiatives, the TER seeks to serve the Church by establishing a global educational ecosystem that will fill the earth with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. (Isa. 11:9)

 Confession of Faith

 We Confess…

  1. Belief in One God, Creator and Sustainer of all things visible and invisible, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  1. That since the fall of Adam, sin has separated all human beings from God, resulting in evil and death, rendering all persons subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  1. That Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, born of the virgin Mary, is true God and true Man.  He came into the world to restore creation to God’s original plan through his death and resurrection and to draw humanity back into fellowship with God and each other.  As King and Lord, he now reigns over heaven and earth.  He will come again to judge the living and the dead and to rule in the new heavens and earth forever and ever.
  1. That the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, has been given that through the Gospel and the sacraments, he might work repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Through this ministry of regeneration, the Holy Spirit places believers into the Church, making them kings and priests (Rev. 1:6, 5:10), indwelling them for godly living, and empowering them for faithful witness in this world.
  1. The Holy Scriptures, as originally given by God, to be the divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy Word of God, the supreme authority and rule in all matters of faith and life.
  1. The one holy, universal, and apostolic Church, which is the assembly of all saints and true believers gathered around the Gospel preached and the holy sacraments administered according to the Gospel. The Church, the Body of Christ, is the pillar and foundation of the Truth. (I Tim. 3:15) In obedience to the command of Christ, the Church, comprised of neighborhood congregations, is called to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom, equip God’s people for work of ministry, and go and make disciples of all nations.
  1. That Man is created in the image of God, male and female. The complementary nature of the two sexes shows forth the fullness of likeness to God.  Together, man and woman were given dominion over all the earth, stewarding God’s creation with loving care and responsibility.
  1. God blessed the marriage union of one manand one woman as a God-ordained institution. This sacred institution calls forth sexual purity from all God’s children, reserving sexual activity within the boundaries of that covenant relationship alone. This marriage union brings forth children which forms the family as the basic social unit of society. The family – followed by the Church – is the original space God created for teaching God’s Truth to the next generations.
  1. Under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, to know Truth, one needs to study the book of God’s words (Scriptures) and the book of God’s works (creation). Human experience, logic, reason, and intuition must come under the authority of divine revelation in the Scriptures.
